custom_height_tablet=&#8221;30px&#8221; custom_height_phone=&#8221;30px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #4472c4;\">La regulaci\u00f3n emocional se define como un conjunto de estrategias que podemos utilizar para monitorear, evaluar y modular un estado emotivo, especialmente su intensidad y duraci\u00f3n en el tiempo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gen\u00e9ricamente estas estrategias se pueden categorizar en estrategias adaptativas, por ejemplo, de reevaluaci\u00f3n cognitiva, de conciencia emocional, de aceptaci\u00f3n y claridad de las emociones y de resoluci\u00f3n de problemas. Por el contrario, en la desregulaci\u00f3n emocional, se tiende a utilizar estrategias desadaptativas como catastrofismo, rumiaci\u00f3n, evitaci\u00f3n, supresi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En un importante estudio, en el cual se revis\u00f3 la literatura publicada en revistas cient\u00edficas acerca de regulaci\u00f3n emocional, se identificaron 9 <b>habilidades adaptativas<\/b> espec\u00edficas para la regulaci\u00f3n emocional, estas son:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Procesar emociones conscientemente\/ser consciente de las emociones<\/li>\n<li>Identificar y etiquetar las emociones<\/li>\n<li>Interpretar la relaci\u00f3n entre emociones y sensaciones corporales correctamente<\/li>\n<li>Comprender el impulso que generan las emociones<\/li>\n<li>Apoyarse a s\u00ed mismo\/a en situaciones emocionalmente angustiosas<\/li>\n<li>Activamente modificar las emociones negativas para sentirse mejor<\/li>\n<li>Aceptar las emociones<\/li>\n<li>Ser resistente \/tolerar las emociones<\/li>\n<li>Confrontar situaciones emocionalmente angustiosas para lograr objetivos importantes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Dentro de estas habilidades, algunas son necesarias para lograr la regulaci\u00f3n, por ejemplo, ser capaz de identificar y etiquetar las emociones, entender su impulso y su relaci\u00f3n con el cuerpo, es necesario para poder aceptarlas y buscar activamente cambiarlas.[\/vc_column_text][toggles style=&#8221;minimal&#8221;][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;\u00bfQu\u00e9 relaci\u00f3n tiene con la salud mental?&#8221;][vc_column_text]Existe amplia evidencia emp\u00edrica de que las habilidades de regulaci\u00f3n emocional participan en el desarrollo, mantenimiento y tratamiento de des\u00f3rdenes mentales. Est\u00e1 documentado en la literatura cient\u00edfica que, a quienes en un momento dado se les hace dif\u00edcil manejar eficazmente sus respuestas emocionales frente los eventos cotidianos, experimentan m\u00e1s tiempo y de forma m\u00e1s severa per\u00edodos de angustia, los que pueden evolucionar hacia cuadros cl\u00ednicos, como depresi\u00f3n o ansiedad.<\/p>\n<p>Dentro de las estrategias de regulaci\u00f3n emocional la reevaluaci\u00f3n cognitiva, la resoluci\u00f3n de problemas y la aceptaci\u00f3n son tres estrategias que tiende a asociarse a una buena salud mental. Por otro lado, se ha argumentado que la supresi\u00f3n (incluyendo tanto la supresi\u00f3n expresiva como el pensamiento represi\u00f3n), evitaci\u00f3n (incluyendo tanto la evitaci\u00f3n experiencial como la conducta de evitaci\u00f3n) y rumiaci\u00f3n son factores de riesgo, para el desarrollo de afecciones de salud mental.<\/p>\n<p>En los estudios, se identifica que las estrategias de regulaci\u00f3n emocional son eficaces para reducir una amplia gama de s\u00edntomas, que no necesariamente configuran actualmente un trastorno de salud mental, favoreciendo por lo tanto la <b>prevenci\u00f3n de salud mental<\/b>[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=&#8221;Default&#8221; heading_tag=&#8221;default&#8221; heading_tag_functionality=&#8221;default&#8221; title=&#8221;\u00bfSe pueden aprender estrategias de regulaci\u00f3n emocional?&#8221;][vc_column_text]Claro que s\u00ed, m\u00faltiples estudios han demostrado que mediante tratamiento se pueden mejorar habilidades para aceptar, tolerar y modificar las emociones. Si tu estado de salud mental se encuentra afectado, lo m\u00e1s recomendable es solicitar atenci\u00f3n con un profesional de salud mental para tener un diagn\u00f3stico y un potencial tratamiento. Practicando la pausa: La t\u00e9cnica del STOP.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Objetivo: <\/b>Hacer una pausa es necesario para aumentar nuestra capacidad de elegir c\u00f3mo respondemos en una situaci\u00f3n. Cuando no hacemos una pausa entre un est\u00edmulo y nuestra respuesta, podemos terminar simplemente reaccionando autom\u00e1ticamente, actuando incluso en contra de nuestros intereses.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, si alguien nos dice algo que consideramos injusto, podemos reaccionar de inmediato y podemos responderle con algo que es agresivo o poco amable. Sin embargo, si nos detenemos por un momento y notamos que nos sentimos molestos\/as, entonces podemos considerar por qu\u00e9 la otra persona puede haber actuado como lo hizo y luego decidir cu\u00e1l podr\u00eda ser la mejor respuesta. Podr\u00eda ser lo mismo que si no hubi\u00e9ramos hecho una pausa, pero tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda ser diferente. Al menos nuestra respuesta fue una elecci\u00f3n, no una reacci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>T\u00e9cnica: <\/b>Tener una forma de recordarnos la pausa nos ayudar\u00e1 a realizarla en nuestro d\u00eda a d\u00eda, para ello recuerda la sigla <strong>STOP<\/strong>. Esto significa:\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 10px;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>S <\/b><\/span>&#8211; <span style=\"color: #009c9d;\">Silencio<\/span>. Recuerda hacer una pausa.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>T <\/b>&#8211;<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #009c9d;\">Toma algunas respiraciones profundas y tranquilas<\/span>. Esto nos da tiempo para notar el est\u00edmulo.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>O <\/b><\/span>&#8211; <span style=\"color: #009c9d;\">Observa tu estado actual sin juzgarlo<\/span>. \u00bfQu\u00e9 est\u00e1s sintiendo o pensando en este momento? Lo que sea que est\u00e9s sintiendo est\u00e1 bien, ac\u00e9ptalo.<\/li>\n<li><b style=\"color: #009c9d;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">P<\/span> <\/b>&#8211; <span style=\"color: #009c9d;\">Proceder con conciencia<\/span>. Habiendo hecho una pausa para darnos cuenta de lo que est\u00e1 sucediendo, podemos elegir c\u00f3mo responder, en lugar de simplemente reaccionar autom\u00e1ticamente.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aprovecha de practicar el <strong>STOP<\/strong> a lo largo del d\u00eda, por ejemplo, responder el correo electr\u00f3nico, una conversaci\u00f3n importante o la preparaci\u00f3n de una prueba, pueden ser situaciones pr\u00e1cticas para hacer un <strong>STOP<\/strong> y para considerar la mejor manera de responder o afrontar la situaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><b>2. Transformando la respuesta emocional: La acci\u00f3n opuesta<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Objetivo:<\/b> Todas las emociones nos activan para responder y el tipo de activaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 biol\u00f3gicamente conectado. La habilidad de acci\u00f3n opuesta nos permite y ayuda a elegir responder de manera opuesta a lo que nuestra respuesta biol\u00f3gica nos activar\u00eda a hacer. De esta forma, podemos regular nuestra respuesta emocional sin omitirla, evitarla o suprimirla.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>T\u00e9cnica: La t\u00e9cnica se puede resumir en 4 pasos:<\/b>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 10px;\">\n<li>Identifica la emoci\u00f3n. \u00bfEst\u00e1s enojado\/a? \u00bfAvergonzado\/a? \u00bfTriste?<\/li>\n<li>Identifica el impulso de acci\u00f3n que acompa\u00f1a a la emoci\u00f3n. \u00bfQuieres golpear a una persona o un objeto? \u00bfAislarte? \u00bfBuscar apoyo y llamar a un amigo?<\/li>\n<li>Analiza si el impulso de acci\u00f3n se ajusta a los hechos de la situaci\u00f3n (no a los hechos de la emoci\u00f3n).<\/li>\n<li>Si tus emociones y sus impulsos no se ajustan a la situaci\u00f3n, canaliza tu rebelde interior y haz lo contrario de lo que el impulso quiere que hagas. Contin\u00faa haciendo la acci\u00f3n opuesta hasta que notes una disminuci\u00f3n en tus emociones. Mantenerse involucrado en aquello que asusta, actuar con coraje.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Tristeza<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Inactividad, evitaci\u00f3n del contacto, tender a la soledad<\/td>\n<td>Activarse, contactar con otros\/as.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Disgusto<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Rechazar o distanciarnos.
